Neuberger's Private Markets group is seeking an IBOR / OMS Lead to architect and deliver the firm's investment book of record and order management capabilities across private equity, private debt, secondaries, co-investments, and capital solutions strategies to create a real-time view of positions, transactions, and orders across a complex multi-administrator, multi-jurisdiction environment.
The successful candidate will lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of the IBOR/OMS solution — whether a vendor platform, a build, or a hybrid approach — and will partner closely with portfolio management, operations, fund administration, and technology to ensure the platform supports the unique workflows of private markets, including capital calls, distributions, commitments, drawdowns, and bespoke deal structures.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has lived through at least one full IBOR or OMS implementation lifecycle and understands that private markets data is operationally driven, non-standard, and fundamentally different from public markets feeds.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the evaluation of IBOR/OMS approaches — vendor, build, or hybrid — including RFP design, vendor demos, total-cost-of-ownership analysis, and recommendation to senior leadership
Define the target-state architecture for a consolidated, real-time IBOR providing a single view of positions and transactions across all private markets strategies and fund structures
Partner with stakeholders to define functional requirements for OMS, trade blotter, standardized order messaging, and automated confirmations
Design and oversee integrations with fund administrators, custodians, accounting systems, and downstream reporting/analytics platforms
Translate complex private markets workflows — capital calls, distributions, co-invest closings, side letter terms, multi-currency commitments — into platform requirements and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of experience in investment technology, with direct hands-on experience implementing or operating an IBOR, OMS, or comparable investment platform
Deep functional understanding of investment book of record concepts: position keeping, transaction lifecycle, accounting events, corporate actions, and cash flow management
Working knowledge of transaction messaging standards including SWIFT (MT/MX), FIX, or equivalent
Strong vendor management experience — RFPs, contract negotiation, and managing implementation partners
Excellent stakeholder management skills with proven ability to engage front-office investment professionals, operations leaders, and senior technology stakeholders
Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into structured platform requirements and delivery plans
Hands on experience with AI and AI-assisted development and agentic workflows, including use of LLM-based tools to accelerate delivery
Direct private markets experience is a plus
