About the team/ Offering

Our IT Outsourcing delivery teams support mission-critical infrastructure services for enterprise clients, helping ensure reliable, optimized, and secure operations across existing technology investments while enabling modernization. This role will support messaging platforms administration for IBM MQ and RabbitMQ, ensuring availability, reliability, performance, security, and proper integration between applications in alignment with operational standards.

About the Role

Essential Job Functions:

As an IBM MQ and RabbitMQ Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration and operation of enterprise messaging platforms, ensuring availability, reliability, performance, and secure integration between applications. You will support daily operations, incident management, troubleshooting, patching, releases, data changes, automation, audit compliance, and continuous improvement of BAU processes while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.

  • Administer and operate IBM MQ and RabbitMQ platforms, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Manage queues, channels, exchanges, and messaging policies.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize messaging platform performance.
  • Manage L1 incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve operational issues.
  • Execute patching, releases, and data changes.
  • Automate operational tasks using Ansible and scripting.
  • Manage messaging security, including certificates, TLS, authentication, authorization, and access controls.
  • Support development teams with application integrations and messaging usage.
  • Participate in GAS audits and ensure compliance with required controls.
  • Maintain operational documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of BAU processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience administering IBM MQ and RabbitMQ in production environments, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of messaging architecture, distributed systems, and application integration.
  • Strong experience monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing messaging platform performance.
  • Experience with automation using Ansible and scripting.
  • Experience supporting RUN operations, including L1 incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of messaging security, including TLS, certificates, authentication, authorization, and access controls.
  • Experience working with Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments.
  • Knowledge of application servers such as WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat, and IIS.
  • Knowledge of databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
  • Intermediate to advanced English level.
  • The service supports the UK, so schedule flexibility is required.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Prometheus is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures is preferred.
  • Knowledge of audit and compliance processes, including GAS Audit, is preferred.
  • Scripting experience with Shell or Python is preferred.
  • Flexibility to support UK service hours when required.
