IBC Protocol Analyst 1
ERIK | Animal Care and Use Program - Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee
The IBC Analyst 1 reports to the IBC Research Protocol Consultant and assists in the oversight of regulated biosafety submissions of limited scope and complexity; supports efficient and compliant Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) operations; understands and applies basic concepts of federal regulations, agency guidance, state laws and university policies to ensure compliance with sponsor and university requirements; and helps coordinate IBC member activities, including meeting logistics and records management.
The position follows prescribed procedures to analyze research submissions and provides guidance to principal investigators and research teams; documents regulatory findings, committee discussions and actions under the supervision of the IBC consultant; assists in coordinating activities with ancillary review committees and college support staff; communicates with investigators and assists researchers to secure timely committee approvals; monitors individual timelines to avoid delays and approval lapses; meets internal quality standards to ensure regulatory compliance; assists in identifying customer service needs; participates in business process improvement initiatives and operates within the electronic submission system for communications and document management.
In addition, the position provides administrative cross-support to Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) operations, assisting with routine workflow coordination, submission routing, records management, and meeting logistics under established procedures and senior staff guidance. Supports operational continuity across research oversight programs by providing cross-trained administrative coverage during periods of high volume or staff absence.

The pay range for this job profile is $21.35- $27.88. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on multiple factors including internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
