Who are we looking for?

TCHC is looking for a passionate individual who can support our learners, and is looking for a career progression in education, working with some of the hardest-to-reach young people, enabling them to progress to greater opportunities.

As Work Experience & IAG Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality work experience placements for a defined caseload of 16– 19 year old learners on study programme and for those with high needs between the ages 16-25.

You will act as a key interface between employers, centres, and learners, ensuring placements are compliant, well managed, and deliver positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

You will be part of team that provides learner with information, advice and guidance through there learning journey and work with centres to support the future progression of all individual learners.

This is a business-facing role requiring strong employer engagement, operational coordination, and a clear focus on performance against agreed KPIs.

For this role you must be able to travel to different counties to be able to support our centres, young people and meetings with new placements. You must have access to your own vehicle for use at work.

8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday, 1-hour lunch unpaid, 37.5 hours per week

Term-time only (38 weeks plus 4 weeks) option available

£28,000 to £32,000 per annum

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

• Level 3 qualification in IAG or above
• Minimum of level 2 qualification in English and Maths
• Good knowledge and understanding of study programme requirements related to work experience
• Knowledge of the Gatsby benchmarks
• Experience of sourcing employers to provide work placements or work-related projects.
• Experience of organising and delivering engaging presentations
• Experience of delivering individual and group sessions
• Experience of developing effective relationship/partnership working
• Experience of representing a brand in an outward facing role
• Experience of developing promotional/information materials
• Experience of creating and maintaining databases and report writing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Display initiative, be positive and enthusiastic
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours e.g. parent evenings or network events

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• To plan and co-ordinate work experience requirements with curriculum teams to ensure appropriate opportunities are secured
• Source suitable work experience placement opportunities and match learners accordingly
• Ensure that all placements have been vetted for Health and Safety, Safeguarding compliance and Employer Liability Insurance.
• To work with the centres PSD tutors to plan and deliver sessions to prepare learners with the skills they need to represent TCHC during a placement.
• Work with learners 1-1 throughout the year through the IAG process, while ensuring all records are up to date.
• Arrange and deliver Work Experience and Employability workshops to learners.
• Carry out initial learner interviews & DBS applications as necessary.
• Engage with the SEND Team & Compliance to ensure all learners attending a work experience placement receive the appropriate help and guidance for example, Additional Learning Support (ALS), including welfare and finance.
• Arrange a risk assessment on individual learners where the learner has identified issues that need consideration
• To ensure centres are monitoring and recording learners’ attendance and progress whilst on placement and refer any concerns to the appropriate person/team.
• To collect and record work experience feedback from employers and learners.
• To ensure work experience is managed in line with organisation policies and procedures.
• To be responsible for achieving key KPI’s and targets assigned to the role.
• Update employer stakeholder tracking system with key organisations/contact details and log correspondence.
• To participate in team meetings and report any issues direct to your line manager.
• Co-ordinate and participate in events, both during and outside of normal working hours (including evenings and weekends) and promotional activities as required.

Note: These responsibilities serve as an initial outline for the tasks that the post holder will initially be expected to perform. Changes may occur over time to accommodate evolving job requirements and adapt to shifting circumstances.

Furthermore, given the dynamic nature of our operational environment, it is crucial for individuals in these roles to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to travel to different work locations. This outline represents an initial plan and will be subject to periodic review as part of our Continuous Professional Development process.

Certain aspects of their work involve handling confidential information, which should not be disclosed to individuals outside the scope of their official duties.
