Job Description

At ENGIE, we believe the energy transition starts with people who bring expertise, curiosity, and purpose to their work every day. Our Global Business Services team in Romania is growing, and we need experienced professionals ready to shape how we deliver finance operations at scale.

As a I2P Senior Associate, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning Invoice-to-Pay activities into GBS Romania. You will combine deep process knowledge with a hands-on approach to documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational excellence. This is your opportunity to influence how we build and stabilize a critical finance function from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Lead process discovery, documentation, and standardization of I2P activities, preparing SOPs, process maps, and work instructions for the transition into GBS Romania.
  • Drive knowledge transfer by designing training content, test scenarios, and readiness assessments for the receiving team.
  • Act as the first functional escalation point during dual run, go-live, and hypercare phases, resolving complex cases and maintaining issue logs.
  • Deliver accurate and timely I2P processing post-transition, handling high-risk transactions and system exceptions within agreed service levels.
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs, backlog, and aging trends, supporting root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coach colleagues, support onboarding, and share best practices to strengthen team capability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, automation initiatives, and standardization efforts while preserving internal controls.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of Invoice-to-Pay or Accounts Payable experience, ideally in an SSC or BPO environment.
  • Strong expertise in at least one major I2P area with solid understanding of end-to-end process impacts.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Basware, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to prepare clear SOPs, training materials, and practical test scenarios.
  • Fluent English is required. French at a professional working level is strongly preferred. Another European language is an advantage.
  • Structured thinking, strong ownership, and confidence in communicating complex topics simply across international teams.

Location

Bucharest, Romania. Hybrid working model with ad-hoc travel during the transition phase.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary package reflecting your seniority and expertise.
  • A diverse range of missions spanning transition leadership, operational delivery, and process improvement.
  • Stimulating work in an international environment where your contributions directly shape how finance operations are built and run.
  • A friendly, collaborative team culture that values knowledge sharing and mutual support.
  • Flexibility and work-life balance through our hybrid model.

Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
