Leidos Defense is seeking a Software Systems Lab Manager for our Hypersonic Software Test Environment. We are a diverse team that works to implement unique solutions for complex problems in the defense sector, including but not limited to kinetic and directed energy defensive and offensive platforms as well as RADAR and other surveillance and sensor technologies. Our team works across multiple business sectors, with industry partners, and directly with the customer. Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of classified engineering lab
  • Ensure lab operations comply with applicable DoD security requirements.
  • Partner with FSO, ISSO, ISSM, and cyber security to maintain secure and effective operations.
  • Identify and mitigate lab safety, security, technical, and operational risks.
  • Support engineering integration and test activities as needed.
  • Develop and manage lab budget, facility improvements, and long range infrastructure planning.
  • Manage equipment calibrations and lifecycle replacements as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires an ABET accredited B.S. or equivalent degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field with 8+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Candidates must have experience managing day-to-day operation of an engineering or test lab including: Equipment management, facility resource management, and scheduling of design or test events.
  • Candidates must have experience with identifying and mitigating laboratory hazards and operational risks including electrical safety, ESD, RF/EMI, hazardous materials, and fire protection.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of and experience with handling classified data and material.
  • Candidates must have working knowledge of NISPOM/32 CFR Part 117, DSS/DCSA requirements, and other applicable security policies.
  • Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with hardware, software, or system integration, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work and communicate with various other program functional groups, program management, engineering, cybersecurity, IT and Classified IT, security, facilities, and safety.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • US Citizenship required with active secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least eight years of experience in engineering, laboratory, test, or integration operations.
  • Experience managing facilities supporting classified DoD programs.
  • Experience with configuring the network in the classified space to support SecDevOps approaches in a closed environment
  • Experienced with SecDevOps, git, artifactory, ansible, CI/CD, active directory group management
  • Working knowledge and operation of electronic test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, voltmeter, signal analyzer/generator)
  • Working knowledge of software languages, especially Python
  • Working knowledge of Nation Instruments hardware and Labview code
  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP concepts, IP addressing, and subnetting within a networking environment
  • Experience working with network equipment such as switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Experience preparing and presenting briefings and/or demonstrations to customers and management
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • TEMPEST/EMSEC training

Pay Range:

Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
