Job Description

Under the direction of the Hyperbaric Supervisor, Program Nurse Manager, and the Medical Director of the Wound Recovery Center or the attending Hyperbaric physician, the Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to Wound Care patients as well as patients receiving Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). The RN is responsible for the operation and maintenance of hyperbaric chambers and related systems and equipment, and for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using age-specific criteria. The RN practices autonomously within the scope of the State Practice Act and in compliance with all Wound Recovery Center, WRHMC, and Kent Hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Education:

  • Associate's Degree Required; Bachelor's Degree Preferred (BSN Preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 to 3 Years
  • Acute Care Preferred

Licenses:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, in good standing

Certifications:

  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred (required within first year of hire).
  • Advanced wound and ostomy certification preferred; must be certification-eligible and willing to obtain certification.
  • Successful completion of an NBDHMT/UHMS–approved Hyperbaric Medicine Introductory Course preferred or required within 1 year of hire. Must be prepared to sit for NBDHMT Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse examination and attain certification as a CHRN after working 1000 hours within

    Center.
