Hygiene Technician

• Work a 5/2: 4/3 family friendly roster. 9-hours per day
• Join the Health & Safety team at KCGM Operations
• Work at the iconic Super Pit in this Kalgoorlie Residential role

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Hygiene Technician to join our KCGM Operations in this Kalgoorlie residential role.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent you will conduct occupational hygiene monitoring according to relevant standards and guidelines working a 5/2: 4/3 9-hour day roster.

What you can look forward to:

• Ensure workers that participate in occupational hygiene monitoring complete work log forms and are advised to wear monitoring equipment properly. Void samples if monitoring equipment is not worn correctly or if flow rates indicate sample must be voided.
• Ensure timely submission of occupational hygiene samples and ensure potable water samples are appropriately packed, chilled (if required) and freighted to arrive at the laboratory within 24 hours.
• Provide the laboratory with chain of custody documents and advise of samples that are being sent.
• Complete administrative tasks associated with hygiene monitoring including inputting of sample details and results into the site monitoring spreadsheet and completion of feedback letters for workers.
• Operate real-time air monitoring to assess concentrations of contaminants in work areas.
• Provide additional technical support, relevant to skills and qualifications, to the Occupational Hygienist and safety team.

Qualifications

• Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO) – Appointed Person
• Noise Officer (NO) Appointed Person
• Degree in a Health or Sciences Field from a recognised tertiary institution or relevant experience would be beneficial for this role.
• Hold an unencumbered Australian manual C-Class driver’s licence

Our Kalgoorlie Production Centre includes KCGM, Carosue Dam and Kalgoorlie Operations (Kanowna Belle and South Kalgoorlie), bringing together a portfolio of established assets within one of Australia’s most recognised mining regions. Supported by a strong residential workforce and longstanding mining history, the centre offers the opportunity to contribute across a large-scale operational environment within the Goldfields region.
