ABOUT THIS JOB
Position Specific Summary
The Hydrologist position at the City of Tucson’s Water Department works on diverse water recharge projects that help Tucson Water maximize the city’s water resources. The projects may include underground storage of water through aquifer recharge, regulatory compliance monitoring and reporting, well siting and design and well drilling.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Hydrologist. This position does not supervise.
Working Conditions: Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to physical, ergonomic, or emotional hazardous environment. This position will be expected to operate a city vehicle. Must have open availability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Valid and unrestricted Class D Drivers license
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in: Hydrology, Geology, or a closely related field is
required.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (e.g. Project, Excel, Word,
PowerPoint).
· Familiarity with groundwater modeling (e.g. Groundwater Vistas and
MODFLOW).
· Experience in data management and analysis related to hydrologic or
environmental projects.
· Familiarity using GIS software.
· Experience using software to analyze physical and chemical parameters of
aquifers.
· A desire to learn and a positive attitude.
· Flexibility working in a dynamic workplace including evolving digital tools,
changing hybrid environment, shifting priorities and projects.
