Your Mission

Shape the future of hydrogen technology by developing safe, efficient, and production-ready piping solutions for innovative compressor systems. As our Hydrogen Piping Engineer (m/f/d), you will connect process engineering, manufacturing, commissioning, and service through technically robust plant designs. You will define engineering standards, improve design processes, and help us create hydrogen solutions that support the decarbonization of industry and heavy-duty mobility. Your expertise will make our systems easier to manufacture, install, operate, and maintain.

This position is offered as a fixed-term contract with a duration of one year, providing the opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge hydrogen project and gain valuable experience in a fast-growing technology field.

How you will make a difference

• Design piping systems: You independently develop 3D piping systems and plant layouts in Autodesk Inventor using the Pipe and Tubing tool.
• Create technical documentation: You prepare and maintain fabrication drawings, general arrangement drawings, installation plans, bills of materials, piping component lists, and manufacturing documentation.
• Define engineering standards: You establish and standardize pipe classes, components, fittings, specifications, and engineering standards within the Inventor and Vault environment.
• Optimize digital libraries: You develop, manage, and continuously improve pipe styles, specifications, catalogs, and component libraries.
• Improve plant integration: You conduct clash detection and optimize plant layouts with regard to accessibility, maintainability, manufacturability, and installation.
• Collaborate across functions: You work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Operations, Commissioning, and Service to deliver reliable hydrogen compressor solutions.

What you should be good at

• Technical foundation: You have completed technical education at an HTL, university of applied sciences, university, or an equivalent institution in mechanical engineering, plant engineering, process engineering, or a comparable discipline.
• Relevant experience: You bring at least five years of professional experience in piping design and industrial plant engineering.
• Inventor expertise: You have excellent knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Vault, and the Pipe and Tubing tool, including piping project administration.
• Piping knowledge: You have proven experience in creating and managing pipe classes, catalogs, specifications, component libraries, plant layouts, and fabrication drawings.
• Process understanding: You can read and implement P&IDs and understand essential process engineering concepts. Experience with hydrogen, gas compressor, oil and gas, or process plants is an advantage.
• Professional approach: You work independently, systematically, and with a strong focus on solutions, and you communicate confidently in written and spoken English. Knowledge of pipe stress and flexibility analysis software such as ROHR2, CAESAR II, or AutoPIPE is a strong advantage.

• Fair Compensation: A gross annual salary based on wage structure agreements starting at € 63,000. - adjusted according to individual qualifications and experience.
