Job Description

The Hydro Services Manager operates within the West Service Hub of GE Vernova Hydro North America. The Hydro Services Manager is responsible for identifying and/or responding to and managing the Service needs of Hydro Power Plant owners within the geographical area covered by the hub location. Transactional service activities, also called Plant Support activities, are the services provided to Hydro Power Plants such as Spare Parts, Technical Assistance, Condition Assessment, Maintenance and Repairs. Related products are mainly Hydro Turbine and Generator products.

Hydro Services Manager

The Hydro Services Manager will report directly to the West services leader.

During the bid stage of a project, the plant support project manager will be leading and doing the technical and commercial offer with the support of the hub engineer, the Quality team, the field operation representative and the sourcing representative. During the project stage, the Hydro Services Manager will act as a project manager and main point of contact to the customer, with the same Services supporting team as in the bid stage.

In his/her role, the Services project manager will:

  • In collaboration with the sales manager and Services regional leader, be part of the commercial strategy to develop Services activities
  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, listen to customer needs and be ready to detect client issues and promote adequate technical solutions
  • Deliver Services commercial and technical proposal with the support of the Services regional team
  • Be the project manager to drive the execution of the services job with respect to time, quality, and costs commitment
  • Build strong relationship and intimacy with GE Vernova client while demonstrating success in the execution of the jobs
  • GE Vernova provides high-quality services to customers/clients located across the globe and the employee must be able to provide services in an efficient manner aligned with the standards of excellence of the company

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical or electrical engineering or business administration
  • Minimum 7 Years professional experience including:
    • experience in Project management (small size/fast track projects/services projects)
    • experience in rotating machines industry
    • experience in customer negotiations
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Hydro Power Plants 30% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in a commercial role or commercial proposal development role
  • Engineering or Field Operation experience is valued

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
