The Role
We are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Technician to join our team, responsible for the fabrication, installation, testing and maintenance of stainless steel hydraulic and instrumentation tubing systems.
The role requires hands-on experience with 316 stainless steel tubing from 1/4" through 2" OD, including the coning and threading of medium-pressure (MP) and high-pressure (HP) tubing.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, bend, route and secure stainless steel hydraulic and instrumentation tubing from 1/4" through 2" OD.
• Measure, cut, deburr, clean and fabricate tubing assemblies using manual and hydraulic tube-bending equipment.
• Cone and thread MP and HP stainless steel tubing using approved tooling and procedures.
• Install compression fittings, MP/HP connections, valves, manifolds, clamps, supports and other hydraulic components.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, P&IDs, isometric and fabrication drawings.
• Perform pressure testing, flushing and leak testing of hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic tubing, fittings, valves and associated components.
• Ensure correct tube routing, bend radii, fitting alignment, cleanliness and installation standards.
• Complete relevant inspection, testing and work documentation.
• Maintain high standards of safety and quality at all times and travel to customer, onshore and offshore locations as required.
Essential
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in hydraulic tubing installation or a similar industrial environment.
• Demonstrable experience installing 316 stainless steel tubing from 1/4" through 2" OD
• Hands-on experience coning and threading medium- and high-pressure stainless steel tubing
• Knowledge of MP/HP tubing systems, pressure-rated fittings and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with compression fitting systems such as Parker A-LOK, Swagelok, Hy-Lok, Autoclave Engineers, HIP or equivalent.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics, P&IDs and engineering drawings.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable
Experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, pipeline, offshore or industrial environments would be advantageous, along with experience in hydraulic flushing, hydrostatic testing, hydraulic control panels, manifolds and power units.
