Position reports to HEAD, WELL SERVICES ENGINEERING, ONSHORE

Conceptualize, design and execute "fit for purpose" stimulations for unlocking the potential of unconventional and tight reservoirs and sustain production. Prepare hydraulic fracture stimulation, clean out and completion designs, including tubing stress analysis using industry standard software, and thereafter review the execution of the program at the well site.

Perform all hydraulic fracture design duties related to the assigned onshore wells, including planning and specifying hydraulic fracturing equipment and materials, completion equipment and services, and preparing the long term material forecast to deliver fit for purpose completions in the most economical manner and with the highest regard for all HSE issues.

Prepare the detailed step-by-step hydraulic fracturing and completion program based on the requirements in the Well Prognosis including the detailed specification of the completion accessories setting depths, completion type, weight and grade of casing and tubing and wellhead design. Review the well data for potential problems. Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure that the completion is installed safely and efficiently.

Participate in the preparation of tender documents for contracts relating to completion services or equipment and participate in the technical evaluation of tenders to ensure that new contracts are based on appropriate technical specifications and that contractors are technically acceptable.

Required qualifications, experience and expertise:

1. BSc. in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline plus relevant technical courses in completion design
2. Must be computer literate.
3. Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in Oil & Gas industry include minimum of 10 years experience in unconventional completion engineering and onshore operations.
4. Minimum of 5 years experience with a major IOC or NOC.
5. Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and in writing)
6. Energy and enthusiasm for delivering a problem free operation.
7. Ability to make the correct operational decisions based on systematic analysis with rigorous attention to detail.
8. Ability to coach and support Qatari Development staff.

Preferable Experience and Expertise

1. Advanced Completion techniques for Unconventional Reservoirs
2. Expertise on advanced completion, hydraulic fracturing technologies and advanced production technologies to develop the challenging tight carbonate reservoirs.
3. Expert in handling latest industry standard stimulation softwares.. Capability to specify well completion techniques, designing and implementing horizontal and multilateral wells. Capable of planning and implementation of well interventions and workovers, for the purpose of stimulation/fracturing and evaluation of production potential.
4. Expertise in Nodal Analysis software. Experience on well modelling and network preparation, validation and update (PROSPER/GAPS/PIPESIM/OFM). Design various completion/casing types for different EOR techniques. Should be capable of recommending completion material suitable to address H2S/CO2/highly saline formation water.
5. Carryout diagnostic analysis of wells to determine reasons for low productivity of wells. Carryout risk assessments related to stimulation.
6. Recommend remedial action to improve well integrity and reduce corrosion/impact of corrosion.
7. Experience with a major service company who specialize in hydraulic fracture stimulation.
8. Willing to carry out other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
