
Hydration Aide will work as a team member by ensuring snacks, supplements, and fluids are available and consumed by residents/patients. May provide feeding assistance.
Pay Range Fulltime Position $17.01-$21.70 per hour based on experience and qualifications (eligible for shift differentials).
Shift Differentials:
Weekday Nights - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 7:00 pm - 7:00 am - $3.00 per hour
Weekend Days - Saturday, Sunday - 7:00 am - 7:00 pm - $3.50 per hour
Weekend Nights - Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 7:00 pm - 7:00 am - $5.00 per hour
Duties:
• Promotes the mission, vision and values of SPRHC.
• Pass ice and fresh water on shift, as assigned.
• Pass, offer and encourage residents to consume fluids and snacks between meals.
• Assist any dependent resident that are not high-risk for choking with consuming fluids and foods offered.
• Record percentage of diet consumed at mealtime. Report to assigned nursing supervisor of any residents who refuse their meal or have had a change in the intake of fluids or food consumption.
• Assist with group restorative exercise program.
• Report to assigned nursing supervisor any changes with any resident regarding chewing difficulties or swallowing difficulties.
• Assist with other nursing duties at non-meal and snack times, such as stocking, making beds, tidying rooms.
• Document administration of fluids to residents that meet criteria for risk of dehydration.
• Assist residents to appointments and laboratory meetings as needed and directed by assigned nursing supervisor.
• Assist and encourage resident participation in activities throughout the day.
• Perform other functions as required to fulfill the expectations of the Hydration Aide.
Requirements
Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior work experience working in a healthcare setting or with the elderly population is desired.
