Job Description

The Role

At Fisher & Paykel, we're driven by a simple purpose: to improve people's lives through innovative products and exceptional experiences. As an iconic New Zealand brand with a global footprint, we're proud of our heritage and the values that guide us every day: being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious.

As we continue our journey to become the world's most human-centred appliance brand, we're looking for talented technicians who enjoy solving technical problems, building customer relationships, and delivering outstanding service.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Hybrid Service Technicians to join our Service Operations team across NSW, VIC and QLD.

This is a hands-on role that combines technical expertise with exceptional customer service. You'll work across a variety of products and technologies, including appliances and HVAC-related systems (where licensed and trained), helping customers resolve issues safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Working across an assigned service territory, you'll visit customer homes and service locations, diagnose faults, complete repairs, and provide customers with expert advice and support. You'll also have the opportunity to expand your technical capability across multiple product categories through ongoing training and development.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Hybrid Service Technician, you will

  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences while representing the Fisher & Paykel brand in customers' homes.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and test appliances and other supported products within your training, capability, and licensing requirements.
  • Clearly explain diagnoses, recommendations, and repair outcomes to customers.
  • Use approved diagnostic tools, technical information, and repair methods to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate job records, service documentation, and parts usage information.
  • Manage van stock, tools, testing equipment, and company assets responsibly.
  • Work collaboratively with technical support, service operations, and training teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Identify recurring product or service issues and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in people who enjoy technical problem-solving and genuinely care about delivering a great customer experience.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Experience diagnosing and repairing products in a customer-facing technical service environment.
  • HVAC, refrigeration, appliance servicing, electrical, gas, plumbing, or related technical trade experience.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Confidence using digital systems, mobile technology, and service management tools.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Relevant appliance service, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, gas, plumbing, or technical trade qualification.
  • Current licences, registrations, endorsements, or certifications relevant to the work undertaken.
  • Current driver's licence.

What's In It For You?

At Fisher & Paykel, we invest in our people and provide opportunities for growth and career development.

You'll enjoy:

  • Ongoing product and technical training.
  • The opportunity to expand your expertise across multiple product categories.
  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative team environment.
  • Career development opportunities within a global organisation.
  • Generous employee product discounts for you, your friends, and family.
  • The opportunity to work for a company that genuinely cares about its people, customers, and communities.
