The Opportunity

Siemens Healthineers is looking for passionate and driven Hardware Installation Engineers to join Varian’s Radiation Oncology Business, supporting the installation of advanced Linear Accelerator systems. This opportunity is ideal for enthusiastic and motivated individuals — whether you are starting your career in a high-tech healthcare environment or looking to elevate your existing technical experience to the next level. In this job, you will be responsible for the onsite installation and upgrades of and associated equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for the onsite installation, upgrade, testing, acceptance, and handover of world [1]class medical linear accelerators and associated systems. Following comprehensive training from industry experts, you will independently manage installations of multi-million-dollar radiotherapy systems while delivering the exceptional customer experience that Varian is known for worldwide.

The Responsibilities & Attributes

· Install or Upgrade Varian’s Linear Accelerators (LINACs) in accordance with technical documentation, quality standards, and global installation guidelines.

· Deliver highly visible and impactful onsite performance involving installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of sophisticated high-tech medical systems.

· Perform hands-on technical activities like assembly, installation, calibration, software integration, mechanical fixing, repairs and troubleshooting with precision and attention to detail within timeline.

· It is an onsite installation & upgrade work of complex and advanced Linear Accelerator (LINAC) at the hospital, typically continuous 3–4-week assignments in a stretch of a single visit.

· Specialized & Standard Engineering tools handling is one of the vital & essential roles for precise calibration, alignment and performance of the job.

· Electronics, Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting is integral & important part of this role to resolve complex technical challenges efficiently,

· Independent troubleshooting of technical problem with some remote assistance is an essential skill and should be able to properly escalate the discrepancy in troubleshooting process and/or procedures if any required.

· Handle and conduct the radiation surveys with customer in compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards, maintaining the highest level of operational safety.

· Maintain all regulatory and safety standards while working with LINAC radiation beam operations.

· Perform Acceptance Testing to verify that all product specifications and quality standards are fully achieved before customer handover. Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP),

· Demonstrate system functionality, operation, and specifications to customers in accordance with the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP).

· Accurately document completed work in compliance with Quality Management Systems and company procedures.

· Support timely installation/upgrade completion to help customers begin patient treatments as scheduled following installation or upgrade activities.

· Submit work orders, timesheets, expense reports, installation reports, and related documentation regularly to maintain accurate operational records and reporting.

· Maintain detailed records in the Salesforce-Unity system, including installation activities, technical issues, corrective actions, and parts utilization.

· Aspect of on-field installations & upgrades in this role is not limited to system hardware, it will expand to software, computers and networking also.

· Apply professional engineering concepts while adhering to company policies, procedures, and operational best practices. Page 3 of 3

· Verify and approve the operational performance and quality of systems following installation and commissioning activities.

· Demonstrate a strong learning mindset with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, tools, and hands-on technical challenges. Quick learner for hands-on tasks.

· Requires minimum supervision during independent installation after training.

· Maintain a high degree of professionalism according to Siemens Healthineers to perform installation & upgrade activities.

What Is Needed to Succeed (Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required)

· Sound hands-on experience of electrical, electronic and mechanical testing, verification, checkout and calibration of high technology & complex machines.

· Good knowledge and sound professional experience with electro-mechanical engineering, machine assembly and disassembly.

· Two to three years of technical & hands-on experience of field engineering, working on high technology and complex mechanics.

· Passion for field engineering and hands-on technical work while traveling across different regions of the world.

· Interest for travel, with the ability to work across diverse regions and cultures during extended onsite assignments of 3–4 weeks, primarily within the Indian subcontinent and later globally.

· Well versed with technical documents like installation manuals, technical field service bulletin, etc.

· Experience of outside of Medical Device & Healthcare Industries are also welcome including Veterans from technical divisions.

· Good professional experience of high technology machines and about their processes and methods such as product installation, servicing, development, specifications, troubleshooting.

· Considerable experience in handling of tools and test equipment used for verification, servicing and calibration particularly digital volt meters, oscilloscopes, torque wrenches, hydraulic jacks and mechanical measurement devices as well as software tools.

· Proficient with computer systems and related network applications IT network office tools.

· Hands-on experience and knowledge of machine rigging, cabling, etc. will be beneficial.

· Customer focused attitude articulates and skilled in interpersonal communication.

· Fluency in English both written and spoken.

· Bachelor’s degree of Technical Institute or University in electronics / electrical / biomedical / computer / electro-mechanical engineering or related fields or equivalent education.

· Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Sales force Unity, reporting databases, and SharePoint.
