Job Description

Grid Solutions, part of the GE Vernova Electrification Segment, is accelerating the energy transition with advanced grid technologies. Within Grid Systems Integration, we deliver integrated solutions that enable large-scale electrification, connect renewable energy, strengthen grid stability, and support our customers’ most critical infrastructure needs.

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong HVDC Solution Line Quality Leader to shape and drive the Quality strategy for one of the most critical technologies enabling the future of energy.

In this global leadership role, you will partner with senior business, engineering, industrialization, supply chain, project, and services teams to embed quality across the full HVDC portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in strengthening quality culture, improving operational performance and driving product robustness, ensuring compliance, and delivering measurable business impact across a complex global matrix organization.

Reporting directly to the GSI Quality Leader and functionally to the HVDC Solution Line Leader, this is an outstanding opportunity for a senior professional who combines deep technical credibility with strategic leadership and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective deployment and governance of harmonized Quality Management System requirements, in compliance with internal standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
  • Lead quality assurance activities for design, technical, and gate reviews, ensuring risks are identified early and managed effectively.
  • Oversee core quality processes including CAPA, non-conformity management, customer complaint management, audits, lessons learned, and root cause analysis
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, reduce variation, and enhance competitiveness.
  • Engage with customers, certification bodies, and third-party auditors to build confidence in HVDC quality performance and compliance.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop teams across a global matrix organization, creating alignment and shared ownership of quality outcomes.
  • Support Design for Safety and Sustainability in HVDC reference solutions, in alignment with Electrification EHS and sustainability priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college with 15 years of experience
  • Significant experience in Quality or Engineering leadership within complex industrial environments such as engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, project execution, or services.
  • Strong technical background in highly engineered systems, ideally in HVDC, power electronics, grid systems, transformers, or related electrification technologies
  • Demonstrated experience with quality systems, audits, CAPA, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and process governance
  • Proven ability to lead in a global, cross-functional, and matrix environment.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in quality or engineering leadership within sectors such as energy, offshore wind, power systems, automotive, aviation, or other high-reliability industries
  • Lean, operational excellence, or process simplification expertise.
  • Experience supporting product development, industrialization, or execution of large and complex international projects.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach to execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global and multicultural teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to convert complex issues into clear actions.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring skills, with a passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
  • A collaborative leader energized by innovation, quality, and the opportunity to contribute to the energy transition.
