• Facilitate the classroom instructional process: develop, plan, and prepare a complete progressive course of study, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional aids; maintain attendance and grade records; monitor conduct, safety, and discipline during training.
• Remain current within the instructional field and technologies, attend scheduled professional development activities, and update plans to meet professional requirements.
• Continuously meet standards to maintain HVAC Excellence program accreditation.
• Visit area employers and assist with the placement of students in the workforce.
• Participate in recruiting and evaluating students for programs.
• Participate in professional development activities, including cooperating with outside agencies and program advisory committees; conduct two committee meetings annually.
Job Duties
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum five (5) years of successful work experience as an HVAC Technician in industrial, residential, and/or commercial HVAC systems, including installation and service.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Communication skills necessary to teach students; teaching experience is preferred.
• Commitment to remain current in the HVAC/R profession.
Preferred Qualifications
• Technical Diploma or higher in the HVAC/R trade preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Must commit to remain current in the field of HVAC/R.
• Show evidence of good character, organizational skills, and mature attitude.
• Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with local industry partners.
