Fortis Institute in Pensacola, FL, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated HVAC instructor to join its faculty. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our HVAC Technician. This is a part-time (22 hours per week), professional position reporting directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach HVAC-R courses. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation. Successful applicants must have at least three years of experience working in HVAC-R service positions.

Must have:

• 3 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician
• HVAC Certified
• EPA Universal Certified

Nice to have:

• HVAC Journeyman
• NATE Certified
• Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience is a plus, but will be provided as part of our orientation and ongoing development training.
• Applicants must be positive and motivated to work with our students and provide positive training and advising to help them achieve their career goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma required
• EPA Certification
• At least three years of experience in the field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized, motivated and results driven
• Prior teaching experience preferred
