Catalyx is seeking a reliable and experienced HVAC
Technician to join our overnight operations team. This third-shift role is
responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing
commercial HVAC systems during overnight hours to minimize disruption to
building operations. The ideal candidate has strong diagnostic skills,
experience with preventative maintenance programs, and the ability to work
independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
·
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC
equipment including RTUs, chillers, boilers, split systems, air handlers,
cooling towers, and ventilation systems
·
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and
control system issues
·
Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and
respond to alarms or system failures
·
Conduct inspections to ensure systems operate
efficiently and meet safety standards
·
Replace filters, belts, motors, coils,
thermostats, and other HVAC components
·
Maintain accurate service records, maintenance
logs, and work orders
·
Respond to overnight emergency service calls and
urgent repairs
·
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company
safety procedures
·
Coordinate with facility management and
day-shift teams regarding ongoing repairs or operational concerns
·
Assist with energy efficiency initiatives and
system performance optimization
·
High school diploma or GED required
·
HVAC certification or technical training
preferred
·
EPA Universal Certification required
·
3+ years of commercial HVAC maintenance or
service experience preferred
·
Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigeration
cycles, controls, and preventative maintenance practices
·
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and
technical manuals
·
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving
skills
·
Ability to work independently with minimal
supervision
·
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
preferred
Physical Requirements
·
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
·
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and
work in confined spaces
·
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in
varying temperatures
·
Ability to work overnight shifts consistently
Preferred Skills
·
Experience with building automation systems
(BAS)
·
Familiarity with CMMS/work order software
·
Strong communication and documentation skills
·
Experience in healthcare, industrial,
manufacturing, or commercial facilities environments
