Job Description

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and overhauling of entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destinations. The technician oversees all HVAC equipment for one or more of Carnival Corporation's owned and operated global destinations and assists the Maintenance Supervisor with duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintenance Operations & Repairs

  • Process and complete work orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Troubleshoot issues and perform timely repairs on various facility systems.
  • Conduct all required electrical, plumbing, and HVAC installations and repairs.
  • Maintain service records and logs for all HVAC equipment on property.
  • Respond to emergencies across restrooms, bars, kitchens, vehicles, and the RO.

2. Team Supervision & Support

  • Supervise the maintenance team in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with operational oversight and daily task management.
  • Coordinate daily ice distribution across tours, bars, kitchens, and vendors throughout the property.

3. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards across work areas.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks, coveralls, and safety glasses.
  • Monitor compliance with property and industry safety guidelines in daily maintenance activities.

4. Administrative & Miscellaneous Support

  • Assist with general facility upkeep and coordination of maintenance logistics.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience is required
  • Additional education in Hospitality or related field is a plus
  • 2 - 4 years’ experience in an administrative or coordinator role
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with logistics, operations and finance teams
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working as HVAC Technician
  • Advanced mechanical, analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Fluency in conversational English,

  • Solid knowledge of technical principles and processes.

  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees and guests.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers, and co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
