HVAC Technician Level I, II, or IIIPerforms mechanical inspection, repair, maintenance, preventive maintenance, installation, and calibration of the Districts heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC). HVAC equipment such as, but not limited to, air handling units, cabinet heaters, thermostats, chillers, boilers, piping, etc. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Essential Physical Requirements: • Constant lifting five (5) to twenty (20) pounds • Frequent lifting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds • Frequent lifting over fifty (50) pounds • Constant bending, squatting, standing, reaching, sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, stooping, repetitive motions • Frequent overhead work
--- Perform a variety of contracting and purchasing related tasks within trade or, in support of, department buyers, including identifying the scope and requirements of anticipated projects, identifying and contacting suppliers and contractors, conducting pre-bid walk-through and/or conferences, performing quality control inspections, inspecting delivered products and certifying completed work.
--- Provide estimates for time and materials for mechanical related projects, upon request from district sites, Maintenance Leads, Maintenance Manager
--- Perform as subject matter expert and interface with project coordinators, engineers, general contractors, and sub-contractors on project design, development and site visits.
--- Maintain accurate records / logs related to the HVAC equipment;
--- Perform seasonal start up and shutdown of HVAC equipment including evaporative coolers, cooling towers, chillers and boilers.
--- Ability to test, troubleshoot and set up boilers and boiler combustion efficiency.
--- Working knowledge and ability to monitor operation of equipment through the Building Automation system (BAS).
--- Inspect and verify the operational safety of all heating boilers, roof top units, air handling units and ventilation systems.
--- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance inspections and associated repairs on HVAC equipment: including, but not limited to, troubleshooting electrical circuitry, reading and interpreting schematics as it relates to HVAC equipment.
--- Diagnose defects, repair or replace defective parts in HVAC units and equipment
--- Respond to routine and emergency service calls for HVAC equipment.

--- Recommend to supervisor repair needs to accomplish and eliminate ongoing and future repairs
--- Knowledge of hazardous materials and disposal requirements
--- Ensure applicable mechanical codes and regulatory requirements are met
