Summary

• Develop HVAC maintenance and repair program throughout the facility.
• Supervise and complete HVAC maintenance, construction, and renovation projects for assigned facility.
• Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
• Determine requirements for HVAC supplies and equipment.
• Prepare justification for supplies and equipment and submit purchase requisitions.
• Remains abreast of new HVAC/refrigeration techniques, procedures and equipment.
• Recommend the procurement and assist in supervising the installation of new equipment.
• May require overtime, on-call rotation and 24 hour response for emergencies.
• General maintenance experience.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Examples of duties

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

• A high school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems.
• Must possess EPA 608 Type II or universal certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
