Overview

Provide preventative and corrective maintenance to all buildings and equipment contained in and around buildings. Help construct/remodel new buildings, offices, temporary structures. Help install and maintain utilities to support activities in and around buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Know and understand operating theories for building HVAC systems.
  • Must be able to service and repair mechanical systems on HVAC systems.
  • Read and understand blue prints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Understand, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 3 phase power, and 240/208/110 VAC power to equipment.
  • Know and understand refrigeration systems.
  • Must be able to perform minor refrigeration repairs and become refrigerant certified.
  • Know and understand plumbing systems and installations.
  • Must be able to maintain complete plumbing systems per building code, including drains, hot/cold water, and water treatment systems. Must acquire copper pipe soldering skills.
  • Know and understand domestic hot water systems:
  • Must be able to make minor repairs to boilers and control systems.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in a similar job in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Experience includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, H.V.A.C. (heating ventilation & air conditioning).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 75lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor and outdoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually moderate to high.
  • Typical equipment used include but are not limited to hand tools, power tools, shovels, and computers.
