DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

The ideal candidate will provide technical support for Central Maintenance technicians for proactive work implementation and policy integration to meet the business goals of ArcelorMittal Calvert.

The Basics:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of relevant experience in HVAC electrical/ mechanical maintenance/service/installation
  • Relevant experience in maintaining and installing large commercial and industrial HVAC system
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medium Voltage Power systems and HVAC systems
  • General knowledge of Medium Voltage Switchgear, Transformer and Breaker maintenance, and HVAC units

The Extras:

  • Vocation or technical program in HVAC service and repair preferred
  • Steel industry maintenance experience preferred

TRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Demonstrated history of safety compliance
  • Strong HVAC, mechanical, and/or electrical knowledge in an Industrial environment
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism
  • Interest and ability to work at our site location in Calvert, Alabama

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Maintain records
  • Use measuring and testing tools to diagnose HVAC systems
  • Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance requires
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of HVAC equipment
  • Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories
  • Handle refrigerants safely and responsibly
  • Function as a team member maintaining a safe and orderly work area
  • Conduct HVAC system inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of HVAC equipment and perform scheduled repairs of HVAC equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Enter notifications and complete work orders in SAP
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules
  • Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Fulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment
  • Demonstrates commitment to teamwork by fostering an environment that embodies trust and respect
  • Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001 (current version), IATF 16949 (current version), and ISO 17025 (current version)
  • Work closely with medium voltage PD technician while on shift.
  • Work closely with other areas of Central Maintenance Power Distribution, Cranes, Facilities, etc.

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Shift Work: 4 days on 4 days off rotating nightshift and dayshift every 2 weeks. (This position will be days Monday – Thursday, 10-hour days for 3 to 4 months training.)
  • Shift and schedule may be adjusted due to workload.
