Job Description

DataVolt is a global leader in sustainable and innovative data center solutions. We provide businesses across the world with the infrastructure they need to connect, collaborate, and grow in the data-driven landscape of today. Our solutions focus on security, reliability, scalability, and sustainability, empowering our clients to truly achieve digital transformation. We have strategically positioned operations in Riyadh, Dubai, California, Mumbai and Tashkent and are committed to shaping a sustainable digital future through groundbreaking innovation.

Responsibilities:

The Critical Facility Technician (CFT) is a hands-on operational role responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems in a colocation data center. Working within a structured 24/7 shift pattern, the CFT is the eyes, hands, and first responder for all critical facility systems, monitoring plant, executing preventive maintenance, responding to alarms, and escalating incidents in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Performing routine inspections on CRAC and CRAH units — checking supply/return air temperatures, chilled water supply/return temperatures, filter differential pressure, drain pans, refrigerant sight glass condition, and control panel status
  • Replacing or cleaning air filters on CRAC/CRAH units in accordance with the PM schedule and pressure differential thresholds
  • Monitoring chilled water system parameters including supply/return temperatures, differential pressure, flow rates, and pump status
  • Recording cooling tower and dry cooler readings including inlet/outlet water temperatures, fan status, basin level, and water treatment dosing system status
  • Checking and recording variable speed drive (VSD) operation on fans and pumps — reporting any unusual vibration, noise, or error codes to the CFE
  • Supporting the water treatment programme — taking water samples for analysis, recording conductivity, pH, and chemical dosing readings, and notifying the CFE when thresholds are exceeded
  • Maintaining containment integrity in the white space — replacing blanking panels, checking aisle containment doors and seals, and reporting any hot spots identified during rounds
  • Assisting certified refrigerant engineers with refrigerant handling tasks as a support technician (note: refrigerant handling must be performed by certified personnel only)

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical maintenance, operations, or engineering role in a relevant discipline
  • Vocational qualification, trade certificate, or technical college diploma in Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Building Automation, or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated ability to read and follow technical procedures, checklists, and maintenance schedules
  • Qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician with hands-on mechanical plant experience
  • Knowledge of chilled water systems, DX cooling, and air handling units
  • Basic refrigerant awareness (F-Gas or local equivalent — handling by certified engineers only)
  • Prior experience in a data center, telecommunications facility, hospital, or other mission-critical environment
  • Uptime Institute CDCTP — Certified Data Center Technician Professional, or willingness to achieve within 18 months of appointment
  • General Industry Safety certification or local equivalent health and safety qualification
