
Monday - Friday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm
The employee will install and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including but not limited to overhauling compressors, changing cooling units, fitting rings, bearings, belt and shafts, repairing cooling/heating coils. Will install and maintain pneumatic electronic control systems including adjustment and calibrating control devices and valves. Will service and maintain plant and instrument compressed air systems, low-pressure steam and hot water heating systems. Will install and maintain the following piping systems, including but not limited to, steam/condensate, chilled water, process cooling, plant/instrument air, potable water, glycol, and refrigerant. Will provide 24-hour emergency response as necessary in support of mechanical systems. Will assist fellow trade and service workers as required. Required to climb and maneuver on ladders, staging and work platforms and/or tight spaces. Ability to climb over and around equipment in construction areas is a must. Position may require candidate to be on his/her feet upwards to 80-90% of the time. Will be required to work on the Laboratories two steam shutdowns as needed.
Will be required to acquire, within five years, a Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician’s license.
Five years of experience in the refrigeration field required.
EPA Universal Recovery Certificate/License required.
The ability to read construction drawings and process and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) is required.
Must be able to work all shifts as required by MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
Hiring Range: $44.50/hr
