Summary

Southern Mechanical is seeking a skilled, dependable, safety-conscious HVAC Sheet Metal Installer to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have experience installing HVAC ductwork and sheet metal components, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will work alongside our team to install, assemble, and maintain sheet metal components for HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and other job site environments. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates effectively, and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every project.

What You'll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications
• Measure, cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal using hand tools and power equipment
• Install HVAC ductwork, vents, fittings, metal panels, and related components
• Complete layout, fabrication, and installation tasks according to project specifications and applicable codes
• Properly seal, insulate, and secure ductwork and sheet metal components
• Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule
• Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers as needed
• Identify potential installation issues and communicate concerns promptly
• Maintain tools and equipment and follow proper safety procedures at all times

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of related experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• EPA certification
• OSHA 10 certification
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Familiarity with HVAC ductwork, air distribution systems, and sheet metal installation
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to customers in easy-to-understand terms
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
• Reliable attendance and a commitment to completing quality work

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when required
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and active construction environments
• Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
