HVAC Project Manager - Mechanical Construction - Base Salary to 130k/year - Birmingham, AL

• Our client is an innovative leader in the construction and modular building industry focused on delivering high-quality, technology-driven building solutions with an emphasis on efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence. They are seeking an HVAC Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while overseeing estimating, field operations, scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination.
• This role is ideal for a hands-on HVAC/mechanical construction professional with experience managing retrofit and installation projects, leading field teams, coordinating subcontractors, and driving project execution in commercial or industrial construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage HVAC/mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Oversee HVAC retrofit, installation, and mechanical system projects across multiple job sites
• Prepare mechanical estimates, proposals, bids, budgets, and change orders
• Support preconstruction activities, project development, and pre-bid reviews
• Coordinate HVAC project schedules, manpower planning, and installation activities
• Lead and manage field personnel, subcontractors, and project teams
• Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
• Coordinate project layouts, detailing, fabrication, and installation planning
• Monitor project budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial performance
• Manage billing, collections, payables, and project documentation
• Identify and secure change orders and additional project opportunities
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, installation standards, and safety requirements
• Coordinate procurement, materials management, logistics, and equipment deliveries
• Lead project meetings and maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Oversee project closeout activities, punch lists, turnover documentation, and owner training
• Maintain accurate project reporting and documentation throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of HVAC/mechanical construction project management experience
• Strong HVAC/mechanical estimating, bidding, and proposal experience
• Experience managing multiple HVAC or mechanical construction projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, retrofit projects, installation methods, and mechanical construction practices
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial management experience
• Experience managing projects with revenues up to $2M
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and contracts
• Experience coordinating HVAC field operations, subcontractors, and installation teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and project management software
• Ability to travel as needed for project and client requirements

Compensation:
