Job Title: HVAC IAQ Technician

Location: Charleston, SC

Compensation: $20-$25/hour (based on related work experience) and bonuses.

Preferred Home Services is seeking a skilled and motivated Residential HVAC IAQ Technician to join our team. As an IAQ Technician, you’ll work with homeowners to improve their indoor air quality by diagnosing, installing, and maintaining HVAC systems and IAQ solutions. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and knowledgeable about HVAC and air quality systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and Maintain IAQ Systems: Install, service, and maintain indoor air quality systems, including air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, UV lights, and advanced filtration systems.
• Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot and resolve issues in HVAC and IAQ systems, including identifying poor air quality causes and recommending solutions.
• Perform IAQ Assessments: Conduct indoor air quality assessments, checking for pollutants, humidity levels, and ventilation efficiency.
• Educate and Advise Homeowners: Provide expert advice to homeowners on how to improve their indoor air quality, explaining available options and maintenance practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used, completing necessary paperwork and digital logs.
• Safety Compliance: Follow company and industry safety standards at all times, ensuring compliance with local codes and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in HVAC and/or IAQ installation and maintenance, or completion of a related HVAC/IAQ training program.
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, mechanical skills, and an understanding of HVAC and IAQ systems and products.
• Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor when interacting with customers.

Requirements

· High school diploma or GED.

· Physically able to work on HVAC units.

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.

· Valid SC driver’s license and a safe driving record.

· Authorized to work in the U.S.
