We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering Team. In this role, you will tackle complex engineering challenges, lead improvement projects, review system designs, and manage critical projects on Exhaust and Process Systems. You will also oversee daily operations and maintenance to enhance system quality, reliability, and efficiency, directly supporting the high-precision operations of a semiconductor wafer fab.
The Exhaust Team, a vital part of our Facilities engineering structure, manages a diverse range of systems, including Compressed Dry Air (CDA, IA), Acid/Alkali Scrubbed Exhaust, Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Exhaust, Heat/General (H/G) Exhaust, Emergency and Smoke Exhaust, Process Vacuum (PVAC), and Clean Vacuum (CVAC). These systems are critical to maintaining uninterrupted operations, as they are designed to run 24/7, 365 days a year.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Possesses knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems, including compressors, dryers, fans, heat transfer, and pneumatics.

  • Promote a process safety mindset and ensure compliance with site air permits, driving abatement efficiencies to meet world-class standards.

  • Provide day-to-day support for operational, maintenance, and engineering issues within Facilities Operations Maintenance (FOM). Manage equipment to ensure utilities meet tight quality fab production requirements. Monitor and address quality and capacity concerns across systems. Seeks out innovative concepts/technologies to improve system and operational efficiency.

  • Support start-up and commissioning of equipment by identifying deficiencies and working with construction to tackle problems. Create start-up step plans to safely start and test equipment before full production.

  • Lead root cause analysis and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to in contain and correct problems.

  • Implement standard operating processes(SOP) to improve and standardize work across the team

  • Work Schedule: 1st shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

  • 3+ years of experience.

  • Previous experience in plant operations, reliability engineering, or design engineering.

  • Prior work experience at an advanced manufacturing facility or have a related background in plant operations, process design, consultant firm or technical project management.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills for assessing problems and developing corrective actions.

  • Possess excellent time management and priority setting skills while having the ability to effectively advance multiple activities simultaneously and enable on-time project delivery.

  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to coordinate and communicate technical information to and from all levels of the organization.

  • Exhibit commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and highly adaptable to rapidly changing business needs and initiatives.

  • Demonstrate ability to build strong, influential relationships.

  • Previous experience with AutoCAD, Revit or similar software is a plus.

  • Previous data analysis experience/machine learning is a plus.

  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office based applications.

  • Experience in system capacity calculations and equipment selection.

  • Professional Engineer’s license a plus.

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
