Key Responsibilities:
Technical & Planning- Read and interpret blueprints, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometric drawings, and technical specifications to determine layout and installation procedures. Plan and schedule pipe installation sequencing to maintain project workflow and coordinate with other trades (e.g., electrical, structural). Perform 4material takeoffs, order necessary materials, tools, and equipment, and manage on-site inventory. Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of various types of pipe and materials.
Quality & Safety- Ensure all work is performed safely and in strict compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies. Conduct regular site inspections to identify and rectify potential hazards. Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project codes and specifications. Monitor and oversee essential quality activities like pipe system testing.
Communication & Administration- Serve as the primary point of contact between the crew, the Project Superintendent/Manager. Maintain accurate, detailed records of work progress, as-built conditions, and safety documentation. Troubleshoot on-site technical issues and recommend solutions to avoid delays. Track job costs and production rates to ensure work remains within budget.
