Job Description

Performs site surveys ahead of fitting heating, ventilation, or air conditioning systems. Plans the placement of pipework, ducts, and control panels. Installs HVAC components. Schedules the HVAC engineering activities to meet the Facilities Management Department’s (FMD) Mission, goals, objectives, and standards of the American Hospital Dubai.

• Oversees 24-hour responsibility for the management and operations of HVAC systems and participates in a multi-disciplinary role when required to maintain operational services.
• Develops and maintains good working relationships with all department staff, consultants, contractors, and others.
• Submits periodic reports on assigned topics.
• Supervises the maintenance technicians in the direction and execution of Facility Management Functions.
• Determines and implements design approaches and parameters and conducts feasibility studies on all preventive maintenance (PM) and work orders.
• Meets and communicates with the Project Team and team members to ensure proper dissemination of information throughout the department and the site.
• Provides project reports and documentation such as functional specifications, operating instructions, maintenance routines, and operating statistics to management through the Project Engineer from time to time.
• Maintains assigned Air Conditioning and Chilled water systems and Building Management Systems (BMS) to the required standards and maintains records.
• Applies quality system principles as per American Hospital Dubai's standards and makes analysis and implements improvement activities.
• Familiarises with all local regulations and Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
• Implement Sustainable Practices/Policies in Facilities Management's operations.
• Undertakes special assignments as delegated by the superior.
• Plans, studies, and implements energy-saving plans in discussion with departmental heads towards cost-saving objectives and efficient maintenance of systems.
• Maintains Mechanical systems and company reputation by complying with international and local codes

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Diploma
• Membership in a Professional Engineering Institution or Society is recommended

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience for a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering degree holder or
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience for Diploma holder
• Previous Management experience in Facilities Operations
• Skills in computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Project and Primavera Systems, strong IT and interpersonal skills, Auto CAD knowledge preferred)
• Experience in Management and Leadership
