Job Description

Our client is currently strengthening its team by hiring an HVAC Designer for the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare HVAC design and detailed drawings for marine applications
  • Develop duct routing and equipment layouts for:
    • Accommodation areas
    • Machinery spaces
    • Technical and service spaces
  • Prepare drawings for galvanized steel and black steel duct systems
  • Detail duct penetrations through bulkheads and decks in coordination with structural drawings
  • Translate engineering calculations and specifications into design drawings
  • Coordinate HVAC layouts with piping, electrical, and structural disciplines
  • Update drawings based on comments from engineers, shipyard, and class
  • Assist with material take-offs and drawing documentation
  • Maintain drawing revisions and design files

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical discipline
  • 1–3 years of experience as an HVAC Designer or CAD Designer (marine experience preferred)
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems and ducting design principles
  • Familiarity with galvanized steel and black steel ductwork
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and understand HVAC layouts, schematics, and specifications
  • Good written and spoken English
