We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused HVAC Counter Sales Associate to join our team in Birmingham, United States. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for HVAC contractors, technicians, and DIY enthusiasts, providing top-notch customer service and technical advice while driving sales of HVAC equipment and supplies.

  • Assist customers with product selection, offering expert advice on HVAC systems, parts, and accessories
  • Process sales transactions and manage customer accounts using point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and restock shelves as needed
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure product availability and resolve any issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, industry trends, and local building codes
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and timely manner
  • Participate in ongoing product training to enhance knowledge and sales skills
  • Support marketing initiatives and promotions to drive sales and customer loyalty
  • Ensure a clean and organized sales floor and counter area

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in HVAC sales or related field
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and industry best practices
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Proven sales ability and experience in a retail or counter sales environment
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including POS and inventory management software
  • Basic math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and preparing quotes
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to HVAC installations
  • Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
  • Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings as needed
