
Market leading M&E Contractor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join their team in the United Kingdom. As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of their projects by coordinating, managing, and executing the commissioning process for various mechanical systems within commercial and industrial buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage mechanical systems commissioning activities throughout all project stages, including design, construction, and post-construction phases.
Develop commissioning plans and strategies for mechanical systems, considering project goals, client requirements, and industry standards.
Conduct thorough review, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems to identify any operational deficiencies or performance gaps.
Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and owners, to integrate commissioning activities seamlessly into the overall project schedule and objectives.
Create comprehensive commissioning reports, documenting system performance, deficiencies, and recommended corrective actions.
Conduct functional testing and witness system performance to ensure compliance with design intent, specifications, and energy efficiency targets.
Participate in on-site training of building operation and maintenance staff to ensure understanding of system operation and maintenance requirements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and standards related to mechanical commissioning, and provide technical expertise and guidance to the team.
Skills: & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in mechanical systems commissioning for commercial or industrial buildings.
Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems design principles.
Strong understanding of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability practices.
Familiarity with commissioning guidelines such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, and NEBB.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
Exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Professional certifications such as Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalent are an advantage.
