Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HV Substation Supervisor to join our team and support the successful delivery of a Solar project in Te Aroha, Waikato Region, New Zealand.

The HV Substations Supervisor will be responsible for providing leadership and direction across Substation construction scope, working closely with the Construction Management Team to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality project execution.

This role involves planning, supervising, and managing section resources to meet construction schedules and stakeholder expectations while ensuring full compliance with contract specifications and industry standards. The HV Substation Supervisor will also be accountable for maintaining a safe work environment and leading teams to achieve operational excellence throughout all phases of the project.

THE ROLE

• Ensure electrical work complies with legislation, standards and codes

• Supervise and mentor a team of specialists for the HV Substation construction scope

• Coordinate end-to-end project delivery – from planning to completion

• Enforce robust health and safety practices, risk assessments, and permits

• Identify training needs, lead toolbox talks

• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders

• Maintain accurate records

• Promote process improvements that boost productivity, reduce costs

• Lead responses to electrical emergencies such as faults or outages

• Proactively stop any unsafe practices to protect yourself and others

• Escalate any issues that could affect safety, performance

About You

• Demonstrated construction experience overseeing Substation construction

• Demonstrated experience successfully leading teams

• Possess a comprehensive understanding of NZ legislation

• Possess a strong technical background in electrical systems

• Driver License

• General Construction Induction Card
