Location(s)

  • Remote.
  • Occasional in-person meetings in Atlanta, Georgia, approximately 1–2 times per month; proximity to Atlanta is preferred.
  • Occasional visits to an assembly facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary plus performance bonus.

Position Summary

The Technology Leader - HV is a senior electrical engineering role responsible for leading the technical advancement of high-voltage product lines, with particular emphasis on breakers and transformers. This position combines product engineering leadership, technical proposal support, customer engagement, and cross-functional coordination to deliver reliable solutions for complex data center, renewable energy, utility, and industrial projects.

Job Function

  • Lead one or more high-voltage product lines while supporting the execution of engineering projects, planning, training, and product advancement.
  • Use software and engineering tools to develop quotations, plans, sections, schematics, details, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOM) for product drawing sets.
  • Review specifications to evaluate requirements, options, lead times, testing requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Manage the customer experience from quotation through production, including resolving discrepancies and developing solutions for challenging applications.
  • Communicate project requirements to internal engineering, scheduling, and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide in-depth technical support to customers, sales representatives, and internal teams regarding product applications and specifications.
  • Apply industry standards, including ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA, to support compliance and product accuracy.
  • Participate in customer visits and occasional tours of the Salt Lake City assembly facility.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quoting, order management, product development, and standardization.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, senior leadership, customers, and manufacturing partners to support accurate and successful project delivery.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; power-focused programs are preferred; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline or business, with 2+ years of experience in technical proposals, quoting, or engineered products.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, or customer support in a technical environment is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is optional.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes, with a strong desire to continue learning and a passion for product engineering design.
  • In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, transformers, and their applications is required.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage breakers and transformers, including their design and application to complex projects.
  • Ability to lead a team, incorporate input from senior leadership and project managers, and provide direction to staff in remote, hybrid, or office environments.
  • Ability to drive schedules in coordination with sales, project managers, and senior leadership, with an understanding of proposals, financial considerations, and customer relationships.
  • Ability to interpret and apply internal, client, and industry procedures and standards to complex design situations and guide staff in implementation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients in office or field environments, answer technical questions, drive solutions, and mitigate negative impacts in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to develop, review, and evaluate design alternatives using experience, standards, and codes to address constructability and design challenges.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP or SAP experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate CAD proficiency.
