Job Description

Job Title: Hut Coordinator

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Department: Operations / Deployment

Reports To: Project Manager / Deployment Manager

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay Scale: $20.00 - $32.00 / hour (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an organized, technically skilled, and proactive Hut Coordinator to oversee, synchronize, and execute our infrastructure deployment projects in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will serve as both the operational backbone and hands-on technical lead for our fiber and network hub installations ("huts").

You will manage the end-to-end site deployment lifecycle-from initial permitting, utility coordination, and vendor tracking to hands-on equipment rack-and-stack, structured cabling, DC power, and fiber testing. The ideal candidate blends project coordination discipline with inside plant (ISP) technical expertise to ensure sites transition seamlessly from raw ground to fully active, standards-compliant network hubs.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Buildout Coordination

  • Oversee the end-to-end hut deployment process, ensuring sites transition seamlessly from raw ground to active, fully operational network hubs.
  • Coordinate critical infrastructure prerequisites, including power utility drop requests, electrical hookups, and civil site preparation.
  • Navigate local permitting and zoning requirements, submitting documentation and tracking municipal approvals to prevent deployment delays.

Schedule, Vendor & Financial Tracking

  • Maintain complete oversight of project critical paths, identifying potential bottlenecks early and implementing mitigation strategies to hit deployment deadlines.
  • Track project milestones, manage deployment schedules, and provide clear operational visibility to leadership.
  • Handle vendor accruals and track field expenditures to ensure work completed is accurately accounted for prior to formal invoicing.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor deliverables to ensure work meets construction, safety, and contract standards.

Communication & Site Documentation

  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal market teams, field technicians, contractors, municipal entities, and executive leadership.
  • Work directly from installation documentation, architectural drawings, and Method of Procedure (MOP) guidelines.
  • Maintain comprehensive project logs, site buildout records, labeling, and data documentation to guarantee full operational visibility and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 2+ years combining project coordination/management with hands-on Inside Plant (ISP), Central Office, Data Center, telecom, or civil infrastructure deployment experience.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with equipment rack-and-stack, structured cabling (CAT5/6, fiber), and cable management systems.
  • Familiarity with grounding, bonding, basic DC power concepts, and fiber/copper testing tools.
  • Practical understanding of utility provisioning, electrical hookups, and municipal permitting workflows.
  • Financial Literacy: Basic understanding of project accounting principles, vendor accruals, purchase orders, and site budget tracking.
  • Software & Tools: Proficiency with Google Suite/Microsoft Excel and project management tracking platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, or Jira).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation needed to manage high-volume, multi-faceted projects independently.

Benefits & Work Schedule

  • Work Schedule: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday (flexible for scheduled night/overnight cutover work as needed).
  • Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits including W-2 employment, Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays, Health/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k), HSA, and long-term growth opportunities.
