Job Description

Shape Policy. Elevate Voices. Drive Humanitarian Impact.

CARE is seeking an exceptional Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor to lead and influence high-level advocacy efforts on the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar—one of the most complex and underrepresented crises globally.

This is not a traditional advisory role. It is a strategic, outward-facing position at the intersection of policy, diplomacy, and humanitarian action, where your voice, networks, and expertise will directly shape decisions affecting conflict-affected and displaced communities—particularly women and girls

The Opportunity

As Humanitarian Advocacy Advisor, you will be at the forefront of CARE’s regional and global advocacy on Myanmar. Working closely with the Country Director, Deputy Country Director – Programs, CARE’s Asia Regional Team, and global humanitarian leadership, you will:

  • Drive advocacy strategy that influences donors, UN agencies, and key decision-makers

  • Amplify the voices of affected communities, ensuring their realities shape global policy dialogue

  • Champion protection, access, and rights, particularly for women, girls, and displaced populations

  • Strengthen partnerships with local actors, supporting locally led advocacy and representation

  • Position CARE as a thought leader in one of the world’s most complex humanitarian contexts

You will represent CARE in high-level regional and international fora, engage directly with policymakers and media, and play a critical role in shaping coordinated humanitarian responses.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of Myanmar-focused advocacy and influencing strategies

  • Produce compelling briefings, policy positions, and donor-facing materials that drive action

  • Represent CARE across UN, donor, and INGO platforms, including co-chairing key working groups

  • Build the capacity of CARE teams and partners to engage effectively in advocacy and policy dialogue

  • Translate field insights into powerful, evidence-based policy asks

  • Strengthen CARE’s visibility and influence through strategic communications and media engagement

Why Join CARE

At CARE, advocacy is not an add-on—it is central to how we deliver impact. You will join a global organization committed to equity, dignity, and transformative change, working alongside passionate teams and partners who are shaping the future of humanitarian response.
