This examination will establish an eligible list from which an immediate appointment will be made in Ridgecrest. Candidates are encouraged to indicate ALL acceptable geographical locations on their application which they will accept employment. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission.
Initial application screening will result in a written examination. Subsequent testing dates to be posted as applicable.
Examinations: Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of principles of customer service and human behavior; business practices; appropriate business attire; telephone etiquette; organizational practices and procedures; basic mathematics; basic computer operations; techniques of interviewing to obtain information; basic grammar; basic public contact skills.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Level I: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university, or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that provides the knowledge and abilities indicated below.
Level II: Satisfactory completion of training as a Human Services Technician I.
Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license is required upon appointment.
