General Statement of Duties
Position provides directive/managerial work planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the administrative operations of DSS. Position also directs in the absence of the County Social Services Director.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
Position is responsible for directing managers/supervisors, professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in the delivery of agency services, providing leadership and direction for program development, establishing program standards and monitoring and evaluating quality of service delivery systems. Position performs duties and responsibilities with considerable independent judgment under the general supervision of the County Social Services Director.

Recruitment and Selection Guidelines
Master's degree in public administration, business administration, social work, or human services field and two years of management experience in a human services agency or business, with a preference for one year of management experience in a human services agency; or, graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a human services, business or related degree and four years of management experience in a human services agency or business, with a preference for two years of management experience in a human
services agency.
