Job Description

The Human Resource Specialist is responsible for recruiting, onboarding and administrative support of the Human Resources team. Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, they will implement effective recruiting strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization. This role assists in maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations related to personnel matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assesses recruiting needs through communication with employees, supervisors, managers, and executives.

· Performs new hire orientations, updates orientation processes, and ensures that all employees' new hire processes are efficient and provide exceptional experiences.

· Maintains records of onboarding requirements.

· Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.

· Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.

· Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

· Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.

· Screens applications, selects qualified candidates, and schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

· Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers and other stakeholders.

· Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.

· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

· Assists with onboarding, including but not limited to ensuring AES pre-employment requirements are met, including backgrounds, drug screens, human performance evaluations, offer letters, job description creation, new user setups, employee files, etc.

· Attends and participates in on-site job fairs as needed.

· Assists in monitoring compliance with respect to labor law postings, FMLA, Workers Compensation and other compliance areas for all AES locations.

· Assists in verifying I-9 documentation (E-Verify) and maintains documents as required to ensure compliance.

· Assists with audits necessary to maintain corporate compliance and ensures adherence to laws and regulations.

· Assists with general administration and clerical needs, including updating HR / Payroll or Benefits forms.

· Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

· High school diploma or GED; Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources or similar is needed.

· 2-3 years of professional Human Resource experience or similar field.

· Experience in an oil & gas or manufacturing industry would be highly advantageous.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.

· Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

· Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.

· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role.
  • Pleasant, personable, inquisitive and possesses excellent telephone etiquette skills.
  • Punctual, highly self-motivated, and able to productively work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet deadlines, and multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate both verablly and in writing with a wide variety of audiences.
