INTRODUCTION:

This position is responsible for a variety of tasks related to administrative support services for the Human Resources Department. This position also provides administrative support for the Human Resources Director. Maintaining confidentiality on all HR matters concerning employees and employment is required.

DUTIES:

  • Answer multi-line telephone, answer a variety of Human Resource related questions, and route calls when appropriate.
  • Serves as a resource and provides assistance to internal/external applicants and CTSI staff.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including but not limited to staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
  • Review PANs for accuracy and process.
  • Record personnel data in the HRIS System accurately and timely.
  • Create reports in HR software.
  • Prepare active hard copy and/or electronic files for transfer to inactive archival storage. Maintain filing requirements as required by Federal guidelines.
  • Prepare correspondence as requested by the HR Director.
  • Process employment applications.
  • Order office supplies. Deliver/Pick up HR supplies (i.e. printing, engraving, etc.).
  • Maintains temporary applicant pool list. Maintains job-opening boards for Casino, other tribal organizations, miscellaneous job opening board.
  • Track applicants and advertising data for monthly Tribal Council reports.
  • Provide back up and assistance to HR staff as necessary.
  • Serves on the Safety committee and assists with the Employee Incentive committee.
  • Maintain financial records, reconcile cuff accounts and process Human Resources bills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

TL 114 - High school diploma/GED and two years’ experience in administrative support, preferably in Human Resources. Incumbent may advance to 118 after 2 years of satisfactory evaluations and cross training with Human Resource Technician II.

TL 118 -

Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field and two years experience in Human Resources, -OR- an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge of:

  • Correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and grammar.
  • Administrative, office procedures and systems.

Ability to:

  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
  • Manage files and records, design forms.
  • Work proficiently with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Exhibit organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Work within the human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Exhibit excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Other:

  • Must be able to adhere to the confidentiality of information and individuals as described in the CTSI Operational Manual, Personnel Manual, Federal guidelines and well as HIPAA.
  • Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license and be eligible to operate a GSA vehicle. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.

The Siletz Tribal Gaming Commission is responsible for the regulation of Chinook Winds Casino Resort and any other gaming activities within the Tribe's jurisdiction. The Tribal Council has delegated its authority to regulate Tribal gaming activities pursuant to applicable laws and regulations to the Siletz Tribal Gaming Commission by resolution adopting the Tribal Gaming Charter, pursuant to the Tribe's Tribal/State Compact for the regulation of Class III gaming with the State of Oregon. The Siletz Tribal Gaming Commission's regulatory authority extends over all Tribal gaming operations, including the activities of the Tribal Council in its gaming operation oversight role as set forth in the Tribal Gaming Charter.
