The Quality of Life (QOL) Human Resources (HR) Office is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resource Technician to serve as the first point of contact for employees and provide essential support across a wide range of HR functions. This position plays a key role in maintaining personnel records, ensuring compliance with employment documentation, supporting new employee onboarding, processing unemployment and health monitoring documentation, and assisting with Freedom of Information Act request preparation and reporting tasks. The technician also manages communication by responding to inquiries, routing calls, distributing mail, updating internal systems, and handling various HR-related requests.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret policies and procedures. Experience with records management, customer service, and HR processes is preferred.
This role requires in-office work to support daily operations to employees and HR staff. The QOL-HR Office provides services to the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE); Department of Natural Resources (DNR); and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).
