Job Description

This position will support the Human Resources Assistant Manager in the completion of various Human Resource and General Administration duties required to meet the goals of the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for New Hire Orientation Training.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of objectives, policies, and procedures for the HR Dept.
  • Evaluate resumes and coordinate/conduct interviews.
  • Maintain temporary employee requests and track temporary employees status.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and administer leaves of absence, promotions, etc.
  • Responsible for Emergency Action Plan training, execution and updates.
  • Responsible for administering Service Awards and Recognition Award programs.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance
  • Assist in Human Resource functions including recruiting and hiring activities including
  • internal transfer activities and overtime.
  • Assist with FMLA compliance activities, requests and tracking.
  • Responsible for daily payroll edits
  • Assist with Employee Relation activities including resolutions of complaints and union free status.
  • Responsible for all required legal training along with staff and hourly training.
  • Work to ensure the high morale and retention of Team Members
  • Perform walk around team members on a daily basis
  • Assist with monthly communication meetings.
  • Assist with the organization and planning of company recreation events.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws.
  • Investigate and participate in unemployment claim disputes.
  • Coordinate corrective action/disciplinary procedures
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Will perform all other reasonably related tasks within the Company as required by Management.

  • Complete knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
  • Capable of educating and training Members in Company policies, procedures, and practices
  • Comprehension skills necessary to interpret HR laws, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, to solve problems, and prioritize work loads.
  • Broad understanding of all aspects of Human Resources

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5 years of prior applicable experience in Human Resources
  • Two year management experience preferred.
  • Electronics experience desired.
  • Automotive experience desired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Open staff room with constant activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections. Must be able to effectively change tasks at a moment's notice when the situation requires.
  • Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents and occasional heavy lifting.
  • Exposed to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury up to and including a fatality if safety measures are not followed and adhered to.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as
