Who You Are
The Human Resource Partner has primary responsibility for end-to-end payroll processing and full benefits administration, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in collaboration with the company’s benefits broker and providers. This role will also support other daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department, including employee relations, engagement, development, and partnering with leadership to enforce company policies and practices.

What You’ll Do

Payroll Processing:

  • Performs full-cycle payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, bonuses, and other compensation.
  • Maintains payroll records, audits timesheets, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Processes payroll deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
  • Prepares and reconciles payroll reports, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Coordinates with finance/accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and proper tax filings.
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, and deductions.
  • Stays updated on wage laws and payroll regulations to maintain compliance.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manages the company’s benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Works closely with the company’s benefits broker and providers to manage and complete open enrollment.
  • Ensures accurate enrollment and termination of benefits for employees and resolves any coverage issues.
  • Provides guidance to employees on benefits offerings, eligibility, and claims resolution.
  • Administers leave programs, including FMLA, short- and long-term disability, and other leave requests.
  • Maintains compliance with benefits-related regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).

General HR Support:

  • Performs routine HR tasks, including but not limited to new hire orientation, dispute resolution, performance and talent management, training and development, disciplinary matters, compensation, and occupational health and safety.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, supervisors, and external organizations referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assists with employee investigations and attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Acts as a back-up to additional HR team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be taken into consideration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing and benefits administration required.
  • At least 2 years of human resource management experience outside of payroll processing and benefits administration required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in payroll and benefits processing.
  • Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and benefits compliance.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to come in during the second or third shift when needed.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week with flexible hours to cover off-shifts.
