The Human Resources Department is dedicated to supporting employees and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace. Within the department, the HR Operations team serves as a key resource for employee data management, HR policy administration, workforce support, and HR systems operations. The team partners closely with employees, managers, internal HR functions, and Payroll to ensure exceptional service, accurate data management, and the effective use of Workday.

The HR Operations Specialist is an integral member of the HR Operations team, providing operational support across a variety of HR processes and employee services. This role contributes to the accuracy and integrity of employee records, supports HR transactions and inquiries, and helps deliver a seamless employee experience. Candidates with experience using HRIS platforms, particularly Workday, and strong Excel skills are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Monitors a shared team mailbox and Workday inbox to review, process, and complete HR transactions.

  • Maintains accurate employee records in Workday by entering, updating, and validating employee data while ensuring required documentation is complete and properly maintained.

  • Serves as a resource for employees and managers by responding to questions related to employee records, timekeeping, and HR policies, researching issues, and applying established procedures.

  • Creates and maintains employee files, including validating new hire documentation such as I-9 and E-Verify forms, ensuring proper record retention and organization.

  • Reviews and manages timekeeping records, processes adjustments, updates accruals, and maintains supporting documentation in accordance with company policies.

  • Verifies information submitted through HR forms and systems to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.

  • Supports reporting, audits, and workforce analytics by gathering and validating employee data.

  • Processes employment verification requests and demonstrates a working knowledge of payroll-related concepts, including tax withholding and reciprocity requirements.

  • Maintains knowledge of HR operations, departmental procedures, and organizational practices to effectively support employees and business needs.

  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide professional, customer-focused service.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Working knowledge of HR operations, business systems, and related processes.

  • Ability to work independently under moderate supervision.
