Who we are looking for:

ASCO is in search of a Human Resources Operations Coordinator to provide comprehensive operational, administrative, and financial support to our HR department.

In this role, you will be the engine behind our team—executing day-to-day administrative processes, coordinating key departmental activities, and supporting budget and financial workflows. This position is hybrid with a primary location at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA. The hire must reside within 75 miles of our headquarters. We anticipate the hire to be onsite approximately 2-3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day HR operational processes, ensuring workflows are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with other ASCO departments on administrative, scheduling, and program operational processes.
  • Assist with developing, tracking, updating, and maintaining departmental budget.
  • Support the contracting needs of the department by uploading contract documents, monitoring the procurement process and department activity, and tracking renewals and termination.
  • Supports HR leadership with routine executive tasks, including calendar management and meeting coordination and logistics.
  • Serve as the department credit card holder, process HR staff expenses, and perform monthly expense reconciliation.
  • Responds to routine HR customer service inquiries and conducts basic research in response to staff questions regarding HR operations or processes.
  • Maintain internal HR resources, templates, and documentation, including supporting internal portals and resource hubs in Workday.
  • Support compliance-related documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Support scheduling, notetaking, and follow-up for meetings and action items.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects assigned by HR leadership in support of department

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 0-3 years of operational or administrative support experience within a professional environment including customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) and an openness to embracing and learning new technology.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of administrative support experience with an HR team, including previous experience with budget or financial management
  • Experience with MS Office, HRIS systems (Workday) and Smartsheet
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures

Compensation

This is a non-exempt position based upon 37.5 hours per week. The hourly rate range for this position is $29.79-39.18.

The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rate ASCO expects to provide for a new hire for the position across the U.S. We thoughtfully determine and design offers based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.
