Permanent Part-Time

Pay and conditions

Permanent Part-Time

Hourly pay rates range from:

$33 - $45 per hour

Classification level and pay rate are assessed and determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Advise employees and leaders on HR matters across the full employee lifecycle, including grievances and performance management.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.
  • Contribute to HR projects on engagement, diversity, inclusion, wellbeing, and change management.
  • Support change initiatives through planning, communication, and implementation.
  • Prepare HR analytics and reports on key metrics like turnover, engagement, and workforce trends.
  • Assist with audits, licensing, OH&S, workers’ compensation, and HR reporting.
  • Provide business operations support, including inductions, database maintenance, and reporting.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in organisation, research, IT, data entry, and reporting.

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant qualification in Human Resources Management or working towards, and/or minimum of 2+ years' experience.
  • Experience in child protection, family support, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services is desirable

Additional requirements

  • You must hold a drivers licence (minimum green P’s)
  • You must hold a current Blue Card (Working with Children Clearance).
  • Capacity and willingness to pass a Child Safety and Personal History Screening.
  • You must work within the 10 Child Safe Standards.
  • Ability to meet REFOCUS compliance and reporting requirements

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.

We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.

When it comes to training and research we partner with the very best. Our campus partners, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute (MCRI) and The University of Melbourne Department of Paediatrics, along with the RCH Foundation, are on site with the hospital in Parkville. In 2016–17, more than 85,654 children attended our Emergency Department, 322,291 specialist clinic appointments were held which was almost 70,000 more than the previous year, more than 17,000 surgeries were performed and more than 48,552 children were admitted to our wards.
